Contract Testing: Measuring Equipment

The portfolio of measuring instruments used at Jos. Schneider Optische Werke in Bad Kreuznach amongst others comprises the following systems which are available to our customers for contract testing:

 

1. MTF Station VP 30370 HDOTF

  • Measurement at infinite object distance (OO’ = ∞)

  • Measurement at finite object distance (OO’ = 1 to 6m on optical axis)

  • Maximum angle of view: 42°

  • Y’ = ± 50 mm

  • Measures: flange focal distance, focal distance, MTF (up to 1000 lp/mm), symmetry, distortion, longitudinal and lateral chromatic aberration, field curvature

 

2. MTF- Station VP 30641 KMTF

  • Measurement at infinite object distance (OO’ = 50 to 2500mm)

  • Maximum angle of view: 42°

  • Y and Y’ = ± 400mm

  • Measures: flange focal distance, MTF (up to 1000 lp/mm), field curvature, longitudinal and lateral chromatic aberration

 

3. Center Thickness Gauge VP 30194

  • Lens diameter range: 15 to 150mm

  • Dynamic range: 60mm

  • Measurement accuracy: ± 1.5µm

 

4. Center Thickness Gauge VP 30195

  • Lens diameter range: 2 to 30mm

  • Dynamic range: 20mm

  • Measurement accuracy: ± 1.5µm

 

5. Centering Tester (in accordance with ISO 10110) VP 30508

  • Lens diameter range: 5 to 200mm

  • Lens radius of curvature: ≥ 5mm

  • Lens thickness: min. 0.5mm

  • Reflectance: min. 0.05% at 635nm

 

6. Projection Test Stand VP 30860

  • Visual assessment of resolution and centering status of object lenses

  • Object distance: 200 to 8500mm

  • Object size: up to 500mm

  • Image size: up to 3625mm

  • Assessment conform to sensitivity of the human eye

 

7. Coordinate Measuring Machine Zeiss UMM 550

  • Measuring range: X = 550mm, Y = 1200mm, Z = 450mm

  • Measurement uncertainty per axis: U = 1µm + L/0.00035µm/mm

  • Resolution: 0.2µm

 

8. 3D Profilometer Panasonic UA3P

  • Measuring range: 200mm x 200mm x 45mm

  • Measurement uncertainty: < 10 to 300nm

  • Stylus’ radius: 0.5mm or 2µm

  • Measuring force: 0.3 mN

  • Inclination: up to 60°

9. Interferometer Wyko, Zygo

  • e.g. Zygo GPI XP/D using Fizeau principle, phase shift principle

  • Determination of form error and other parameters of optical surfaces

 

10. Integrating Sphere

  • Measures relative irradiance in accordance with DIN 58188-A1 and ISO 13653

  • Measures veiling glare in accordance with DIN 58186 and ISO 9358

  • Measuring range: up to 600mm back focal length

  •  Image height: up to 250mm

  • Measurement uncertainty: ± 1%

 

11.  Spectral Photometer Perkin Elmer Lambda 950

  • Measuring range: 190 to 3600nm

  • Optical density: up to 5.9

 

12.  Shack-Hartmann Wavefront Sensor Optocraft SHSInspect TL-120mm

  • § Investigation of surface irregularities of plano plates

 

13.  Camera Test Stand Image Engineering

  • Characterization of complete cameras (photo cameras or cell phone cameras)

  • Determination of OECF, MTF, symmetry, noise, relative irradiance, distortion, chromatic aberration, white balance, dynamic range, signal-to-noise ratio
